Dessl, Joseph (16 MAR 1892 – 14 OCT 1968)

Joseph Dessl, 76, route 1, Dorchester, died at his home on Monday, Oct. 14, 1968, of a heart attack.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 17, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester. The Rev. Gerald Schuh officiated, and burial was made in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Dessl was born March 16, 1892 at DarBoy, where he also received his education. He came to Dorchester with his parents as a young boy. He was married to Sophie Stoiber on May 22, 1917, at Dorchester, where they farmed until five years ago, when he retired because of ill health.

He was supervisor for the town of Mayville for 11 years, and also a member of St. Louis Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Frank, of Tomahawk, and two daughters, Mrs. Joseph M. Weber and Mrs. Francis Sebold, both of Dorchester. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
