Kilty, Glenn (4 JAN 1918 – 31 AUG 1968)

Glenn Kilty, 50, died Saturday morning, Aug. 31, 1968, as a result of a car accident in the town of Colby (Clark Co., Wis.).

The accident took place about 9:30 Saturday morning on an intersection of two town roads one mile south and two miles west of Colby, in a collision between his car and a dump truck loaded with fill dirt, driven by Carl Fischer, Colby.

Mr. Kilty was traveling west and Mr. Fischer north, when the struck the car broadside, just behind the left front door. Mr. Kilty was thrown from his car, and both vehicles stopped of the road northwest of the intersection.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity. The Rev. Robert Sutherland officiated at the services. Burial was made in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kilty was born in the town of Unity (Clark Co.) Jan. 4, 1918, and received his education in Unity schools. His marriage to Lorraine Zaulke took place at Trinity Lutheran Church on June 4, 1937.

The couple farmed in the Unity area after their marriage. He operated a tavern in Unity from 1852 to 1963. Since then he has been employed by Clark County Milk Quality Improvement Association of Greenwood.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife and five children, Richard and Ronald, Colby, Roger, Unity, and Randy and Kay, at home. There are three grandchildren.

Also surviving are seven brothers and one sister. They are Melvin of Edgar, Kenneth, Donald and Lyle, Unity, Robert of Spencer, Marvin of Colby, Vern, Athens, and Mrs. Harvey (Lorraine) Gottschalk of Unity. One sister, Myrtle, preceded him in death.

His father, William Kilty, resides in Greenwood.
