Thieme, Geraldine M. (13 JUL 1968)

Miss Geraldine M. Thieme, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Thieme of Colby, and Brent A. Bower, son of Mrs. Dorothy Beisner of rural Dorchester and Harry Bower of Bellwood, Ill., were united in marriage July 13, 1968 at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby.

Rev. David Pankow officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony.

Ronald Boss of Colby played the organ and Robert Lee Benson of Sun Prairie sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "The Wedding Prayer."

The bride chose a floor length nylon sheer over taffeta gown styled with a full skirt which swept into a chapel train at the back. Both the skirt and train were appliqued with sequin trimmed lace. The scalloped lace neckline was embellished with seed pearls and iridescent sequins. Her bouffant illusion veil was secured to an organza bow and petal headpiece centered with a seed pearl star and crystal trim. She carried a bouquet of yellow sweetheart roses.

Diane Smart of Colby was maid of honor, and Doreen Schreiber of Marshfield and Lela Chapman of Wausau were bridesmaids.

They wore matching yellow floor length gowns styled with a sheath skirt of chiffon over taffeta. A scoop neckline and elbow length sleeves were features of the dresses and were trimmed at the shoulders with satin bows. The gowns were hi-lighted with chiffon fashioned to create a coat image. A taffeta and organza petal headpiece held a brief veil. Each carried a single long stemmed yellow rose.

Bruce Bower of Bellwood, Ill. served as his brothers best man, and Ralph Baxter Jr. of Villa Park, Ill., and Ken Chapman of Wausau were the groomsmen.

A reception following the ceremony was held at the home of the bride's parents and dinner was served at the church.

A dance, held at the Sportsmen's Park in Colby, with music provided by Roger Allen and his orchestra, completed the day.

The bride had been employed as a personal secretary at St. Joseph's Hospital at Marshfield, and the groom is employed as an IBM computer operator in Mundelein, Ill.

Following a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and Canada, the couple will make their home at 46 Addison Lane, Antioch, Ill.
