Schaer, Ella (10 June 1908 - 13 November 1973)

Mrs. Ella Schaer, 65, of Schlesian, East Germany, died November 23, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Alfred Spaete, in Granton. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, with the Rev. E. T. Keller, Pittsville, officiating. Interment was in the Windfall Cemetery, Granton.

The former Ella Radewahn was born June 10, 1908, at Malen, Germany. Her marriage to Herbert Schaer, who preceded her in death in 1968, took place place in 1960. She came to the United States on November 9 of this year.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Berta Hoffman and Mrs. Selma Raschkee of Germany and Mrs. Spaete of Granton; and a brother, Oswald Radewahn, also of Granton.

Pallbearers were Edward Garbisch, Melvin Garbisch, Ervin Garbisch, Jesse Richmond, Roger Helm and Henry Helm. “Rock of Ages,” and “Be Still, My Soul” was sung by Mrs. Roger Helm. Mrs. Leland Garbisch was the organist.
