Harycki, Basil (3 MAR 1890 – 20 MAY 1968)

Basil Joseph Harycki, 78, passed away at Stanley Memorial Hospital on Monday, May 20, 1968 of a lingering illness.

Mr. Harycki, a retired farmer, was born March 3, 1890 in Poland. He came to the states in October 1912, residing in Stevens Point, Wis., Schiller Park, Ill., and moved to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1927. He was united in marriage to Martha Staszkowski on Jan. 20, 1920 at Thorp.

Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s on Friday, May 24. Father Edward Masalewicz officiated at the ten a.m. service, with burial being made in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were members of American Legion Cecil Tormey Post No. 118, with full military service. Also, members of Polish National Alliance participated.

Surviving are his wife, Martha; one son, Joseph F. Harycki of Thorp; four daughters, (Marie) Mrs. Edward Kautenberger of Chicago, (Ann) Mrs. Frank Briski of Thorp, (Dorothy) Mrs. Mike Briski of Greenwood; (Florence) Mrs. Art Olsak of Des Plaines, Ill.; one brother, Martin Harycki of Greenwood; one sister, Stella Demidowicz in Poland; cousins, Bernice Klasinski, Stevens Point, Stanley, Jim and Edward of Thorp; five grandsons, five granddaughters, and many and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
