Rohland, John (12 SEP 1887 – 29 MAY 1968)

Services were conducted at 2 p.m. at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home in Owen for John Rohland, 81, route 2, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), who died Wednesday at the Bethel Convalescent Home in Arpin. Burial was made in the Riverside Cemetery near Withee.

Mr. Rohland was born Sept. 12, 1887, in Lithuania, and in 1905 came to the United States and settled in Chicago. His marriage to Caroline Klabon, who preceded him in death in August, 1959, took place in October 1909, at Chicago.

In 1914, the couple came to Withee and had farmed in the town of Hixon until his retirement several years ago.

Survivors are eight sons, Julius, Henry, Fred, Otto, Emil, Edmond and Rinehart, all of route 2, Withee; Albert, route 1, Curtiss; two daughters, Mrs. Ted (Elsie) Petke, route 2, Withee; and Mrs. George (Emily) Fijalkiewicz, Greenwood; 52 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four children in their infancy.
