Schultze, Jean Carol (11 MAY 1968)

St. Mary's Catholic Church, Stanley was the setting for the marriage of Miss Jean Carol Schultze and Leonard J. Gutowski on Saturday, May 11, 1968. Rev. Donald M. Berg performed the 1:30 p.m. double ring ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Max Schultze Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Alex Gutowski, both of Stanley.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a floor length dress fashioned with a fitted bodice of rose point lace featuring long tapered sleeves and a portrait neckline. The bouffant skirt of sheer organza featured a ponnier front accented by inserts of lace ruffles. A court train of organza and lace swept from the shoulders. Her bouffant veil of sheer illusion was secured to a miniature crown of lace and pearls centered on petals of lace, and she carried a bouquet of red roses.

Mrs. Burlene Schultze, Hoven, S.D., sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor , and Mrs. Patricia Mason was her sister's bridesmaid. They wore floor length sheaths of maize chiffon fashioned with Empire bodices of lace, highlighted by fullness creating a mock coat effect. Harmonizing veils were secured to a cloche of sheer net petals accented with dairy centers, and each carried bouquets of maize and white carnations.

Severyn Gutowski was his brother's best man, and Joseph Gutowski, cousin of the groom, was groomsman. Ushers were: Harold Schultze, brother of the bride, and Charles Gutowski Jr., cousin of the groom.

A supper and reception were held at the American Legion Hall, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), where a dance was held in the evening with music by the Mike Briski band.

The bride a graduate of Thorp High School, is employed at the Stanley Company. The groom is a graduate of Stanley High School. After their wedding trip the new couple will make their home on their farm northeast of Thorp.
