Conklin, Connie (27 APR 1968)

Connie Conklin of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) and Edward Irish of Abbotsford exchanged wedding vows Saturday, April 27, 1968, in the Methodist Church in Thorp. The Rev. Christensen performed the double ring ceremony at 8:00 p.m.

Parents are Mr. and Mrs. Jack Conklin of Thorp and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Irish of Grayslake, Ill.

The bride entered the church with her father, attired in a white Irish lace gown trimmed with pearls and rhinestones. The gown featured a long, scalloped lace train.

She carried a cascade bouquet of white carnations and red roses.

Maid of honor was Miss Linda Irish, sister of the groom, of Grayslake, Ill. Mrs. George Reed of Hurley, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. They wore identical blue lace gowns and each carried a blue carnation bouquet.

Allen Alger of Thorp was best man and groomsman was George Reed of Hurley, Wis. Each wore a white tuxedo, as did the groom.

Ushers were William Irish of Grayslake, Ill., and Arnold Leuth of Abbotsford.

Ring bearer was Danny Williamson of Milwaukee, and the miniature bride was Tammy Hart, also of Milwaukee. Both are cousins of the bride.

Mrs. John Paff, accompanied by Mrs. Robert Mathwig of Stanley, sang.

Reception was held immediately following the wedding at the Thorpedo Restaurant.

Guests were from Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota and Michigan.

The bride, a graduate of Career Academy in Milwaukee, is a Medical Assistant at the Stanley Hospital. Mr. Irish attended Wausau Technical Institute and is employed at Stanley Corporation.

Mr. and Mrs. Irish are at home to their many friends at Johnson Trailer Court in Stanley.
