Mech, Elizabeth Lou (25 JUN 1966)

The marriage of Miss Elizabeth Lou Mech and Bruce Melvin Amacher was solemnized at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Stanley, on June 25, 1966, with Rev. Geo. Mathieu reading the double ring ceremony and nuptial Mass at 1 p.m. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Mech of rt. 1, Stanley, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred P. Amacher of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).

Bouquets of pink and white gladiolus with white carnations decorated the altar for the occasion. St. Mary's choir furnished the nuptial music.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of Chantilly lace styled with long tapered sleeves and a scalloped Sabrina neckline. The bouffant skirt featured cascades of tiers encircling the sides of the front lace panel. A pearl edged petal cloche held her bouffant veil of sheer illusion in place and she carried a bouquet of pink roses and stephanotis.

Mrs. Richard Varney was matron of honor for the bride and Mrs. Kenneth Mech, cousin of the bride, and Sherrie Amacher, sister of the groom, were the bridesmaids. Each was attired in a sheath style floor length gown of crepe over taffeta in pink, and each carried a matching bouquet of daisies.

The groom was attended by Richard Varney as best man. The groomsmen were Kenneth Mech and Ronald Amacher. Seating the guests were ? Amacher and Robert LaSage. The witnesses to the ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Johnson of Milwaukee.

Mrs. Mech was in the receiving line wearing a blue lace over taffeta dress with white accessories. The groom's mother was present in a pink sheath with matching lace coat, and each costume was complemented with a corsage of pink roses.

A reception for 275 guests was held at Koolmo's Ballroom at Gilman, with decorations of streamers and bouquets in pink and white. A 4:30 supper was served.

Following a honeymoon the couple planned to be at home on July 5 at Withee (Clark Co.), where the groom, a graduate of Owen-Withee High School, is employed as a mechanic. The bride graduated from Stanley High School and is a beautician.

Friends and relatives were present from Wis. Rapids, Oshkosh, Milwaukee, Marshfield, Owen, Withee, Colby, Cadott, Stratford, Spencer, Thorp and Edgar.
