Stewart, Patricia Lee (4 SEP 1965)

Miss Patricia Lee Stewart and Clayton William Braun, both of Eau Claire, were married at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 4, 1965, by the Rev. Beryl Knudsen in the Nazareth Lutheran Church at Withee.

They are the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Stewart, route 1, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Braun of Greenwood. Mr. Stewart gave his daughter in marriage. Miss Louise Hansen was organist and Mrs. Knudsen sang “The Song of Ruth” and “The Wedding Prayer.”

For her wedding, the bride chose a floor length sheath of crepe styled with an empire bodice of imported Alencon lace and a bow-accented Watteau train. Her Swedish crown of pearls held a bouffant veil and her cascade bouquet was made up of sunburst chrysanthemums and ivy centered by a gold-throated white orchid.

Serving as bridal aides were Miss Nancy Stewart, Withee, as maid of honor, and Miss Jeannie Braun, Greenwood, and Miss Sheila Stewart, Withee, as bridesmaids. Each carried a crescent shaped bouquet of sunburst pompons in fall colors.

Their sheath gowns were in floor length sand crepe detailed with empire bodices of seaweed velvet and Venetian lace accents. Matching flowerettes, with butterfly veils completed their costumes.

The miniature bride, Terri Stewart of Wausau, donned a dress made identical to that of the bride’s for her role. Eric Braun of Milwaukee was the ring bearer.

Serving the groom were Stanley Schwarze of Eau Claire as best man, and William Hribar, Willard, and Gary Braun of Greenwood, as groomsmen. Irving Timmler of Eau Claire and Jerry Longridge, Greenwood, were the ushers.

The reception and wedding dance were held at the Meadowview Country Club.

The bride, a graduate of Owen-Withee High School, attended Wis. State University, Eau Claire, and the Vocational Technical and Adult School there. She has been employed as a secretary by Thorp Finance corp. in Thorp. The groom, a graduate of Greenwood High School, attended the Wis. State University, River Falls, and is now attending the vocational school at Eau Claire.

After a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, the newlyweds will reside in Eau Claire at 707 Kendall St.
