Vobora, Marie A. (21 March 1897 - 17 October 1973)

A long time resident of the Town of Lynn, Mrs. Marie A. Vobora of Granton, died October 17 in Neillsville at the age of 76. Funeral services were held Satruday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home with the Rev. Melvin Nickel of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Town of Lynn Cemetery.

Mrs. Vobora, the daughter of Rudolph and Mary (Maly) Mareck, was born March 21, 1897, in Czechoslovakia and was educated there. She came to the United States in 1913 and located in Chicago before going to California to work. Her marriage to Tony Vobora took place February 21, 1917, at Santa Ana, Ca. The Voboras later came to Clark County, where thy farmed in the Town of Lynn from 1920 to 1969. Mr. Vobora preceded his wife in death on December 17, 1972.

Surviving are nine children, Anton Vobora of Rt. 2 Granton, Mrs. Leo (Marie) Gross of Neillsville, James Vobora of Marshfield, Mrs. Leonard (Agnes) Gross of Lake Park, Mn, George Vobora of Medford, Or., Mrs. Harold (Josephine) Bartlett of West Bend, Mrs. Angela Walker of Neillsville, Mrs. Libbie Gluch of Granton and Stanley Vobora of Mosinee. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Rose Hall of Memorial Home; two brothers, Otto Marek of Lake View, Ak, and Charles Marek of Rt. 2 Granton; and 31 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Henry Alsterberg, Joe Arbelovsky, Sr., Ed Wegner, Joe X. Urban, Leo Michalski and Larry Mishkar. Mrs. Harold Mayer sang ‘Rock of Ages’ and ‘Softly and Tenderly.’ Mrs. James Musil was the accompanist.

George Gasparas, Cicero, Il.; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Michalski and George Michalski and Larry Mishkar, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Naphtali Kaufman, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Vobora, Stevens Point; Joseph Urban, Sr., and Mrs. Elmer Garrels, Pittsville; Margaret Kuskowski and Mr. and Mrs. William Marek, Chicago, Il.; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Arbelovsky, Chili; Jeff H.
