Dickinson, Arthur E. (24 OCT 1871 – 21 JUL 1965)

Arthur E. Dickinson, 93 years and 9 months of Lucerne, Calif., passed away July 21, 1965, in Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley, Wis., after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage at the home of his son, Levi Dickinson, route 2, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) while he, his daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Stone, also from Lucerne, were visiting there.

Mr. Dickinsonw as born at Durand Oct. 24, 1871 and married there Sept. 7, 1898 to Martha Ruehle, who preceded him in death, in 1941. He, with his family, moved to Withee in 1922, and since 1948 has made his home with his daughter in Oregon and California. He has traveled with them extensively the past ten years.

He joined the IOOF Lodge No. 157 at Durand in 1921 and later transferred his membership to Withee Lodge No. 79, where he was still a member. The lodge held services at Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home Friday evening, July 23.

Mr. Dickinson is survived by his daughter, Ida Mae Stone, son, Levi, four grandchildren, Bonnie, Arlene, Darlene and Lyle Dickinson; two sisters, Mrs. Aaron Heath, Durand, and Mrs. Mae Ingalls, Red Wing, Minn.

One son, Arthur, passed away at the age of 20 years. His only brother and a grandson also preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home, with Rev. Knudsen in charge. Burial was made in Forest Hill Cemetery, Durand, Wis.
