Krueger, Christine (6 SEP 1890 -1 SEP 1967)
Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Krueger, 76, who died at Wausau, at the home
of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Krueger, Friday, were held
Monday morning at Wausau. The Rev. John Krasowski officiated at the 10 o'clock
mass of requiem at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Interment was made Tuesday
morning at 10 o'clock in Rest Lawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Krueger, the former Christine Zahorka, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Zahorka, was born in the town of Holton (Marathon Co., Wis.) Sept. 6, 1890. She
was married at Abbotsford to William F. Krueger Dec. 26, 1914.
They lived at Milwaukee for a few years and then came to Abbotsford, where Mr.
Krueger operated a tire vulcanizing shop and service station at the present
location of Cliff's Mileage Station.
Mr. and Mrs. Krueger moved to Wausau in 1942. His accidental death occurred in
July 1954.
While living in Abbotsford, Mrs. Krueger, a member of St. Bernard's
congregation, was active in church work and served as president of St. Bernard's
Catholic Ladies' Altar Society.
Surviving are an only son, William Krueger, and one daughter, Christine, of
Wausau. She leaves two sisters, Sr. M. Liberta of the Order of St. Francis of
Muscoda, and Mrs. Rose Zahorka of Milwaukee.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Harry Olson,
and three brothers, Frank, John and Joe Zahorka.
Among relatives and friends from this vicinity who attended the funeral were
Mrs. Norma Wepfer, Mrs. Myron Wepfer and three daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin
Zahorka, Mrs. Frank Zahorka, Mr. and Mrs. Al Horacek and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
M.C. Thompson, Mrs. Anna Nikolay, Jack Nikolay, Mrs. Royal Archambo and Mrs.
Margaret Weideman, Abbotsford, and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Haderlein of Milan. Other
relatives came from Milwaukee, Madison, Westboro, Wis. Rapids and Hutchinson,
MInn.
