Neville, Sam (February Junior Kiwanian)

February Junior Kiwanian

Sam Neville

Serving the youth of the community and helping to ensure they have the encouragement and support to meet life’s challenges is a central focus of Kiwanis clubs across the nation. At the local level, clubs engage in activities and projects that help to carry out this mission. A good example of this commitment to youth is the Junior Kiwanian program, which has been an on-going feature of the club for more than 50 years.

As the Junior Kiwanian for February, the Neillsville Kiwanis Club is please to have Sam Neville in attendance at Monday meetings for the month. He is the son of Jill and Bill Neville and is a senior at Neillsville High School. He was introduced to club members by Kiwanian Herman Seebandt at the Feb. 2 meeting at the American Legion.

As often realized with our high-achieving students, Neville has put forth the effort to excel at academics, athletics and in numerous extra-curricular activities throughout his time in high school. He is a member of the national Honor Society and participated in the Cloverbelt Leadership Conference. Athletically, Neville has completed throughout high school in baseball, basketball and football, where he has achieved all-conference in baseball and football, been selected to the Gannet Media-Central Wisconsin all-area team and served as captain in all three sports.

Extra-curricular activities include volunteering for the Youth Baseball Association, Neillsville Youth Football and the Neillsville Recreation Department. In the community, Neville is a member of the Calvary Youth; works at Schmitty’s on Main as a waiter and dishwasher and has worked the past four years for the city of Neillsville.

Following graduation in the spring, he plans to attend UW-La Crosse to major in biology or engineering.

The Junior Kiwanian program of the Neillsville Kiwanis Club gives recognition to outstanding senior students, provides an introduction to the concept of a service organization and emphasizes active participation in the community throughout the lifespan. Welcome Sam Neville as Junior Kiwanian.
