Marg, Cynthia Kaye (Marriage - 11 August 1973)

Wedding vows were repeated Saturday, August 11, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church by Miss Cynthia Kaye Marg, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Marg of Rt. 2, Neillsville, and James L. Ehlers, the son of Mrs. Leona Ehlers, Rt. 1 Neillsville.

The 2 p.m. ceremony was performed by the Rev. N. W. Lindloff. Victor Lehmann was the organist. ‘Wedding Prayer’ and ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ were sung by Miss Connie Brown.

The bride’s Edwardian style gown of sata peau embellished with venise lace and seed pearl trim featured a detachable train. A Juliet cap held her lace-edged veil. She carried a cascade arrangement of stephanotis and baby’s breath centered by a lilac orchid as she was presented in marriage by her father.

Maid of honor Pam Gress and bridesmaids Barb Wilsmann and Marla Schmidt, Melrose, appeared in empire style gowns trimmed with venise lace and fashioned with sheer orchid nylon bodices above flocked print skirts. Each carried a single mum tired with white and purple-edged ribbon.

The groom’s attendants included John Ehlers, Columbus as bestman and Arlan Hinkelmann and Jeff Marg as groomsmen. Guests were seated by Randy Gault and Kenny Marg.

A dinner for 225 guests was served at St. John’s Lutheran School. The Strack Trio played music fro an evening dance at the American Legion Hall.

The bride was honored at a shower given by Miss Gress and Mrs. Roger Helm, and at a tea given by Mrs. John Hanson.

The newlyweds both 1973 graduates of Neillsville High School, will live on Rt. 3 Neillsville. The groom is engaged in farming.
