Webb, Dorothy M. (Pichler) (25 AUG 1939 - 29 JAN 2015)

Dorothy M. Webb, age 75, of Colby, died on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. Father Daniel Hackel will officiate. Interment will be held at a later date at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Rock Falls.

Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, February 6 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford with a Rosary Service at 4:00 PM and from 10:00 AM until time of service Saturday at the church.

Dorothy was born August 25, 1939 in Rock Falls, WI, a daughter of the late Adolph and Rose (Bauer) Pichler. She was married to Duane Webb on August 20, 1960. After their marriage they moved to Granada, MN where they stayed for 6 years. They moved to Colby in 1967, where she resided until her death.

She spent most of her life helping others. She volunteered at St. Mary’s Catholic School working in the kitchen, the library, as a substitute teacher, Treasurer and long-time member of the Home and School Association as well as many other school functions.

She was very involved at St Mary’s Parish where she was part of the Christian Mothers Society for many years as well as President for 2 years including the year of St. Mary’s Centennial, co-founder of The Bells of St. Mary’s, taught CCD for third grade and high school, was an original member of the Eucharistic Ministry, started the prayer chain that is still active today, planted flowers around the church for many years, attended mass daily when able and was a servant of the Lord doing good will.

She was involved with the St. Anthony’s Retreat Center in Marathon where they attended Marriage Encounter, Family Encounter and was part of the Cursillo movement. She also volunteered at Colby Elementary school, the Colonial Center Nursing Home and was an active member of the Colby Lions Club. She worked for the Colby City Clerk’s Office for 19 years until she retired in 2002.

She loved to golf and was a league member for 30 years. She bowled in a couple’s league for nearly 20 years. She was an avid reader, gardener, enjoyed sewing, playing bridge and crocheting, and was noted for her afghans and Christmas ornaments. She also loved spending time with her family and friends and especially enjoyed playing cards and board games with her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband Duane; three sons, Dale, Eagan MN, Doug (Shy Ann), Oshkosh, Don (June), Farmington MN and two daughters, Deanna (Bob) Bunkelman, Excelsior MN and Deborah (Peter) Zaske, Stevens Point, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, six brothers and two sisters.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and one miscarried child.
