Trunkel, Mr./Mrs. Anton (40th – 26 OCT 1947)

On Sunday evening, Oct. 26, 1947, friends and relatives surprised Mr. and Mrs. Anton Trunkel Sr. in honor of their 40th wedding anniversary at the Catholic Hall, Willard (Clark Co., Wis.).

The former Anna Stancar and Anton Trunkel were married at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Joliet, Ill. on Oct. 26, 1907.

To this union were born four children, Mrs. John (Ann) Snedic and Edward of Greenwood and John F. and Anton Jr. of Willard.

Tables were set for approximately 200 guests, with a large wedding cake and mums as a centerpiece on the main table. The cake was baked by their daughter Ann, and the flowers were presented by the group.

For this occasion all of their children and their families and Mr. John Trunkel Sr., who was their best man at the wedding, were present.

The couple was presented with many lovely gifts from the group.

The evening was spent in dancing and at a late hour all the guests departed, after having wished Mr. and Mrs. Trunkel the best of luck and happiness for many more years of married life.

The Gleaner joins their many friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for many more years of happy wedded life.
