Columbia (12 July 1973)

Charles Sydorowicz and son Joey of Milwaukee who were visiting his mother, Mrs. Pauline Sydorowicz in the Town of Pine Valley, called at the William Sollbergers’ Saturday afternoon. The Sydorowiczes once lived in Columbia on the present Paul Behrens farm.

Florence Hnetkovsky Togliatti of Coal City, Il., who was a house guest of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Yndogliato in the Town of Pine Valley for several days, called on old friends in the Columbia area last week. She stopped in for visits with Georgeana and William Schulz, Mr. and Mrs. George Mashin and Tara, and Mr. and Mrs. William Sollberger.

Florence Togliatti is the daughter of Frank and the late Ellen Jonkel Hnetkovsky, who were residents our area, having lived for a number of years on what is still called “the old Jonkel place.” The house is now owned by the Clodfelter’s. Mrs. Togliatti is a niece of Mrs. Yndogliato.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe White of White Bear Lake, Mn., came Friday morning to spend the day with his mother, Mrs. Teresa Hart, and Mr. and Mrs. George Mashin. They left Saturday for Marshfield for a visit with friends there.

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Wampole of Madison arrived Saturday for a visit with her parents, the Mashins, and to attend a 25th anniversary class reunion at Bali Hai. Mrs. Wampole, the former Iris Mashin, was a member of the graduates in the class of ’48.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mashin and son, Marlin, of the Neillsville area, visited the George Mashins Tuesday evening, and Ed Mashin of Humbird was a super guest Wednesday. Georgeana Schulz visited Mr. and Mrs. Mashin and Teresa Hart Thursday forenoon. The George Mashins, Tara and Teresa Hart, and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Zasoba of Milwaukee, who are vacationing at Hatfield, visited Mr. and Mrs. George Church in Pine Valley Monday evening.

Vacationing in our area are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Leahy and family, Tony Circro, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Wulf, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Werderitch, Mrs. Lawrence McDonel, daughter, Susie, and foster child, Mark Philips, all of the Milwaukee area, and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Peterson of Ripon.

Mr. and Mrs. Ole Aspen of Neillsville spent a day with Bill and Georgeana Schulz.

The Schulzes visited Mr. and Mrs. Richard Albrecht in Neillsville Saturday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Wulf were dinner guests Saturday of Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Endel.

Mr. and Mrs. Endel spent last week visiting their sons and families, the Michael Endels at Port Washington and the Patrick Endels at Johnson Creek. The Endels recently visited Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kolbrak at Altoona.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Korman and family were guests Friday at the Endel home. Robert is the son of the late Jacob Korman, a former Neillsville resident. He is a cousin of Mrs. Endel.

Mr. and Mrs. Russell Neubauer and daughter, Kathy, of Milwaukee, are vacationing at the B.S.&R. Ranch.
