------ Allar, Judy Diann (10 JUN 1967)

Miss Judy Diann Allar of Unity and Russell Roy Palmerton of Colby were married Saturday, June 10, at the First United Church of Christ, Colby, with the Rev. Kenneth Dix, pastor, officiating at the 2 p.m. service.

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene J. Allar of Unity and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Palmerton of Colby are the parents of the couple.

Music during the ceremony was provided by Bryan Snell, organist, and Deanna Snell, organist, both from Plymouth, Ia., and cousins of the groom. The song titles were “All My Love” and “The Lord’s Prayer”.

The bride chose a floor length gown with a bodice of chantilly lace and a full skirt of peau de soie and lace, completed in back by a beautiful train attached at the shoulders. She carried a bouquet of three toned carnations and greens.

Her maid of honor was Cindy Skerbeck of Dorchester, a friend of the bride, and Joyce Palmerton, Colby, the groom’s sister, as bridesmaid.

Sleeveless sheath formals were chosen for the attendants, identically styled with a bodice of pink and white skirt of pink embroidery. Pink circular rippled headpieces were also set off with crystal trim and pouf veils.

Serving as best man for his friend was Gerald Paulson of Marshfield and Dan Fisher of Unity, a cousin of the bride, was groomsman. Performing the ushering duties were George Allar of Milwaukee, another cousin of the bride, and Jack Boss, Colby, a friend.

Candle lighters were Gene Allar of Unity, the bride’s brother, and Randy Raczykowski of Colby, the bride’s cousin.

Floral decorations and two bouquets adorned the altar and the supper tables had bud vases with one long stemmed pink carnation.

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held for about 110 guests at the Colby city hall, and supper was served at 4:30 in the church hall. A party was held during the evening to honor the new Mr. and Mrs. Palmerton at the home of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Raczykowski, of rural Colby.

Miss Connie Allar of Milwaukee, a cousin of the bride, served as a receptionist.

Following a tour of western states, the couple will make their home at Marshfield where the groom is employed at Berg Equipment.

Guests came from Iowa, Milwaukee, Fond du Lac, Racine, Wausau, Stratford, Unity, Dorchester, Spencer, Colby, Loyal, Granton, Owen, and Abbotsford.
