Saint Charles Catholic Church in Arlington, Va. Was the scene for the marriage of Irene Victoria Prokopiak and Walter Burdette Brown on Saturday, July 1, 1967. Rev. Thomas J. Cassidy performed the 12:30 p.m. nuptial mass ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Prokopiak of Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis. and Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Brown of Arlington, Va.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of peau de soie styled with traditional long lace sleeves, scooped neckline, a bouffant skirt and a shoulder length detachable train trimmed with lace. The bride's fingertip veil of silk illusion was secured by a double crown of pearl arches.

Miss Ann Prokopiak, maid of honor and sister of the bride, wore a floor length sheath of Jay blue chiffon, highlighted by a satin back panel. Elbow length sleeves accented the lace empire bodice. She carried a bouquet of pink roses.

Bridesmaids were Miss Arlene Kosik, friend of the bride, Miss Jeanne Prokopiak, sister of the bride, and Miss Virginia Prokopiak, sister of the bride. They all wore identical dresses and carried identical bouquets, as that of the maid of honor.

Therese Prokopiak, sister of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a floor length dress of white lace fashioned with short puff sleeves and a rounding neckline. Tiers of ruffled lace encircled the bouffant skirt. A petite crown of pearl arches secured her blush veil. She carried a basket of pink sweetheart soes and daisies.

The best man was Mr. Walter Alexander, friend of the groom.

Mr. Bernard Prokopiak, brother of the bride, Mr. Lambert Prokopiak, brother of the bride, and Mrs. Thomas Brown, brother of the groom, were groomsmen.

The ring bearers was Robert Prokopiak, brother of the bride.

The bride's mother wore a blue lace and rayon acetate sheath dress with white accessories. Her corsage was a white orchid.

The groom's mother wore an eggshell rough linen sheath with bone accessories. She wore an orchid corsage.

A reception was held following the ceremony at the Knights of Columbus Club in Arlington, Va.

The couple will make their home in Arlington, Va.
