Jacobi, Audrey J. (Hederer) (15 MAY 1932 - 15 OCT 2014)

Audrey J. Jacobi of Athens passed into the Lord's hands after 82 years of earthly life on October 15, 2014.

She was born May 15, 1932 to Elizabeth and Henry Hederer in Colby, Wisconsin. She graduated from Colby High School and married Robert "Bob" Jacobi on September 1, 1951. They lived near Stratford for three years and then they bought a farm on Highway 97 near Athens.

Audrey also worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Factor in Marshfield for many years. She loved to go bowling and was on many teams. Audrey's hobby was all kinds of crafts, she especially liked painting and crochet. In 1969 she decided to open craft store in their home called The Wishing Well. After several years the inventory outgrew the area and they built a new building for her business. She was interested in fresh flowers and after attending floral classes she added fresh flowers to her many creative adventures. Her business grew and became very successful. Her retail career came to a halt when she had a stroke at the age of 60. Her remaining years were her biggest challenge. With the support of her husband, Bob, family and friends along with her faith, she made the best of her situation.

She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Athens. She enjoyed the service recordings they sent to her very much.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Herman, Stevens Point, Carol Dvorak, Athens, four grandchildren, Oakley Venzke, Wausau, Clayton (Sarah) Venzke, Marshfield, Lenora (Nicholas) Whipple, Wausau and David (Jo) Dvorak, Athens, five great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert "Bob" who passed away June 29, 2014. Her parents, Elizabeth and Henry Hederer, two brothers, Herbert and Elmer Hederer, one sister, Helen Cutts.

The celebration of Audrey's freedom will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens. The Rev. Jeffrey Lambrecht will officiate. Burial will be in the Colby Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from11:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com

We have lost two very special people in a very short amount of time. May they rest in peace, united in heaven, together again.
