Vesel, Therese "Terry" (1 SEP 1940 - 23 SEP 2014)

Therese “Terry” Hannan Vesel, 74, Gainesville, Ga., formerly of Loyal, died on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, in Cumming, Ga. A funeral mass was held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 27, at The Church of the Good Shepherd in Cumming.

Terry Hannan was born in Loyal on Sept. 1, 1940, to Margaret Garbisch and Raymond Hannan. She graduated from Spencerian College in Milwaukee. She married her high school sweetheart, Chuck Vesel, on Dec. 17, 1966. She and her family relocated to Atlanta in 1987, making their home in Alpharetta, Ga. Terry retired as a court reporter from the federal court in 2004. Upon her retirement, she built her dream home on Lake Lanier in Gainesville. She was active in her retirement, traveling abroad, playing tennis and volunteering for meals on wheels, at the Northeastern Medical Center and at Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Meghan, New Haven, Conn.; her son, John, Gastonia, N.C.; three sisters, Dorothy (Howard) Sturtz, Rita (Bill) Meyer, and Annette (Dick DeLorimier); two brothers-in-law; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.

 Terry was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Chuck; her sister, Marceline; and her brothers, Robert and James.

 Memorials may be made to the Volunteer Auxiliary at Northeastern Georgia Medical Center, 743 Spring St NE, Gainesville, GA 30501.
