------ Spence, Patricia A. (26 DEC 1966)

Mr. and Mrs. John D. Hutman are now at home at 7251 W. Lawrence St., Harwood Heights, Ill.

The marriage of Miss Patricia A. Spence of Franklin Park, Ill., and John D. Hutman of River Grove, Ill., took place Monday, Dec. 26, at a nuptial high mass at St. Bernard’s Catholic church, Abbotsford. The Rev. Emil Hodnik officiated and St. Bernard’s choir, with Mrs. Dan Decker as organist, sang.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Spence of Abbotsford and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hutman of route 2, Withee are the parents of the bridal couple.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, appeared in a gown of white silk organza with bell skirt and full cathedral length train. Beaded appliqués of re-embroidered Alencon lace detailed the bodice and long sleeves and were repeated on the front of the skirt and on the train. Her headpiece of a rose designed embellished with pearls and aurora borealis crystals held a frothy tulle veil. Large pompons accented by smaller red ones were combined in the bridal bouquet.

The bridal attendants were attired alike in gowns of red peau de soie fashioned with empire waistlines and bell sleeves. The ensembles were completed with floor length kabuki coats that were attached at the shoulders by bows of the same fabric. Their headpieces were clusters of small red poinsettias and small circular veils, attached at the center. They carried balls of white carnations, contrasted with baby red poinsettias and held by a red velvet cord.

For her maid of honor, the bride chose the groom’s sister, Miss Kathleen Hutman of Franklin Park, and as bridesmaids, her two sisters, the Misses Mary and Barbara Spence, of Abbotsford.

Ray Cahill of Franklin Park was the best man, Ken Zuber of Marshfield, a cousin of the bride, and Paul Hutman of Withee, a brother of the groom completed the wedding party.

Robert Faber of Addison, Ill., performed the ushering duties.

The festivities of the wedding day included a reception, dinner, and dance at the Colby Hotel with 120 guests in attendance.

The decorations in the church as well as the headpieces and floral Balls carried by the attendants were all created by the groom’s mother.

The bride is a 1966 graduate of the Abbotsford high school and is employed as a clerk-typist at Automatic Electric, North Lake, Ill. Her husband, a 1963 graduate of the Owen-Withee high school, is a tool and die apprentice at All-Rite Spring Co., Harwood Heights, Ill.

Guests attending the wedding came from Arizona, Addison Heights and Franklin Park, Ill., Withee, Marshfield, Owen, Medford, Dorchester, and Abbotsford.
