Henry Ernest Sprotte, 69, route 1, Abbotsford, died early Wednesday morning, Nov. 16, at the Veterans hospital at Wood, where he had been a patient for the past two weeks. Funeral services were held Friday at Bethlehem Lutheran church, Milan. The Rev. Ferdinand Timler officiated, and burial was in the Milan cemetery. Funeral arrangements were handled by Maurina Funeral Home, Dorchester.

Music for the ceremony was provided by vocalist, Mrs. William Denzine, and Mrs. Orville Barkow, who played the organ.

Pallbearers were Clarence Venzke, Vernon Underwood, Alvin Rabehl, Donald Stoughton, Raymond Hackel and Lenard Colby.

Mr. Sprotte was born January 12, 1897, in rural Dorchester, where he received his education. His marriage to Laura Gleaser took place July 29, 1927, at Waukegan, Ill. Mrs. ~~~~incomplete~~~~
Logging Company at Tomahawk. He had also farmed in the town of Holton, retiring in 1962. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran church, Milan.

Surviving are a son, Wallace, who now operates the home farm, route 7, Abbotsford; a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Murial) Moynihan, Milwaukee; three brothers, Alex, Tomahawk, Fred, Chicago, and David, Battle Creek, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Fred (Mary) Denzin, Tomahawk, and two grand children.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter, and two sisters.
