Kaudy, Mathias (11 Oct 1822 – 7 Oct 1916)
Mathias Kaudy was born Oct. 11, 1822, in Alsace Lorain, France, and died
Oct. 7, 1916, at the home of his son, John, in town Weston. Mr. Kaudy came to
this country when a young man, locating in Dodge County as early as 1878. His
wife died Aug. 16, 1893. He is survived by five sons and three daughters: N.L.
of Webster, Wis.; J.B. of Neillsville; G.J. and Matt of Grand Rapids; Jos. of
Centralia, Wash.; Mrs. Mary Foote of Fort Edwards, N.Y.; Mrs. Anna Brott of
Longwood, Colo.; Mrs. Belle K. Leichtman of Hurley. Deceased was a fine old
gentleman who all his life had maintained a reputation for strict integrity and
upright manhood and as a result his death will be the cause of deep regret among
his host of friends. The funeral was held yesterday and those who were here from
out of town were Mathias Kaudy of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Belle Leichtman and Leroy
Leichtman of Hurley and Mrs. Edward M. Korzillius of Three Lakes.
