Born to Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Churkey Saturday, twins, a little girl and boy. The little girl lived only a few hours. This is a sad loss to Mr. and Mrs. Churkey and they have our deepest sympathy in their sad hour.

At this writing the forest fires are raging and the smoke is so dense it's almost impossible to breathe. The big marshes west of here are all on fire and running fast.

Mrs. Dr. Bert Clark and son Ross left for their home at Lafayette, Ind. Thursday, after spending six weeks at the Hatton home.

Mrs. S.B. Flagg and daughter Marion spent Saturday night with her mother, Mrs. Palzer, in West Eaton.

Clark Hatton was a business caller on Bert Leatherdale at Loyal Saturday.
