Joseph Pinter, 70, of route 1, Abbotsford was taken by ambulance Sunday night to St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, where his death occurred Monday at 1:15 a.m. The body lay in state at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford, where a rosary service was held Tuesday evening at 8 p.m.

A mass of requiem was sung at St. Bernard’s Catholic church Wednesday morning at 10:30 with the Rev. Raymond B. Schulz officiating. Burial was made in the Dorchester Memorial cemetery.

Pallbearers were Anton Keller, Lawrence Hopfensperger, Art Rueden, Gene Ridderbusch, William Zugier and Gilbert Westphal.

Mr. Pinter, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Pinter, was born March 16, 1896, at Manistee, Mich., and came to Wisconsin in 1908. He was educated in the Manistee and Dorchester schools and farmed in the Dorchester area.

He never married and is survived by one brother, John Pinter, and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Bostad, Mrs. William (Vera) Herrmann, both of Abbotsford, and Mrs. Gilbert (Marie) Ruesch, Wisconsin Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic church of Abbotsford and St. Louis court of the men’s Catholic Order of Foresters of Dorchester, for over 50 years.
