Immanuel United Church report:
The Women’s Guild met in Immanuel United Church Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Elmer Kuester presided and gave the lesson from Romans.
Election of officers was held as follows: Mrs. Elmer Kuester, president; Mrs. Erna Wehrman, vice president; Mrs. Walter Schwarze, secretary; Mrs. Arno Miller, sunshine chairman.
Mrs. Walter Decker gave a report on sick calls for September. Mrs. Emma Hium will make calls in October. Mrs. Gust Horn and Mrs. Hubert Horn were guests. A lunch was served by Mrs. Alvin Albert and Mrs. Walter Decker.
The next meeting will be held November 1. Hostesses will be Mrs. Emma Hium and Mrs. Herbert Horn. Mrs. Alvin Albert will give the spiritual life topic.
Zion United Church:
Mrs. Theodore Abel was elected president and Mrs. Hugh Severson secretary at the meeting of the Women’s Guild Thursday afternoon in Zion United Church. Mrs. William Kuester was appointed sunshine chairman.
A thank you note was received from Mrs. James Metcalf. A card was signed by all to be sent to Mrs. A. H. (Carolie) Noetzel, a former Greenwood resident, who will celebrate her 94th birthday at the nursing home in Mobridge, S.D., on October 22.
Mrs. Richard Acker and Mrs. Paul Acker read articles.
A lunch was served by Mrs. William Kuester, Mrs. Jake Speich and Miss Violet Speich.
The next meeting will be held November 2. Hostesses will be Mrs. Phillip Vollrath and Mrs. Quinton Irvine. Miss Louise Keiner will be in charge of the program.
The adult fellowship met Sunday evening in Immanuel United Church. The Rev. Pacificao Camarin presided. Mrs. Vern Henaman led devotions. Margaret Ann Fravert showed pictures and talked on her stay in Argentina as an exchange student. A lunch was served by Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Albert, Mrs. and Mrs. Clayton Braun and Mrs. and Mrs. Vern Henaman. The next meeting will be held November 5. Hosts will be Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Fravert and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Horn.
Mrs. Robert Stewart was dismissed Tuesday from the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Miss Nelda Windom is a patient at Memorial Hospital in Neillsville.
Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Grutza and sons of West Allis spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ystad.
Mr. and Mrs. Willard Jones and daughter, Brenda, arrived from Waukegan, Ill., Saturday and will live here. They are with his mother, Mrs. Beatrice Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schultz, who brought them here, returned to Waukegan Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Truman Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Stewart and Mrs. George Hoehne attended a forum on National Parks Tuesday evening at Purdy School in Marshfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Bulgrin and son, Bryce, of Pekin, Ill., spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Albert, in Greenwood, and Mrs. Mary Bulgrin, in Owen.
Mrs. Adolph Jackson has been dismissed from Memorial Hospital in Neillsville.
Mr and Mrs. John Kaltinger attended the apple festival and parade in Bayfield Sunday. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. John Felix in Marengo.
The Canasta Club met Friday evening at the home of Mrs. Don Warner.
