------ Westphal, Arlene (07 MAY 1966)

The marriage of Miss Arlene Westphal to Dennis Winkler took place Saturday, May 7, at the Bethlehem Lutheran church, Milan.

Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Edward Westphal, Milan, and Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Winkler, Wisconsin Rapids.

The Rev. Ferdinand Timler officiated at the nuptial service during which Mrs. William Denzin sang “Lord Who at Cana’s Wedding Feast” and “O Perfect Love”.  The church was decorated with white gladiolus at the altar.

Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Mueller, Edgar, cousins of the bride, Myron Westphal, Milan, brother of the bride, and Debbie Winkler, Wisconsin Rapids, sister of the groom.

The bride wore a simple gown of nylon organza controlled silhouette with an hour glass-shaped bodice and modified sweetheart neckline.  The bodice was trimmed in alencon lace, seed pearls and sequins.  The chapel train was trimmed with motifs of white lace.  Her butterfly veil of illusion was held in place by a cluster of gardenia and pearl pedals.  She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses and white carnations.

The bride’s attendants wore gowns of mint green and dark blue chantilly lace with fitted bodices, long tapered sleeves, and bell skirts with satin bows accenting the waistlines.  They carried green and blue-tinted colonial style carnations.

The ceremony was followed by a reception at the Milan club house and a supper at the Skylite club.  A wedding dance was held that evening at Cherokee hall.

About 80 guests were present, coming from Wisconsin Rapids, Colby, Edgar, Abbotsford, Chicago, Marshfield, Theresa, Milan, Athens and Genoa City and Minneapolis.

The groom is employed by Pre-Way in Wisconsin Rapids.  They are making their home at 1050 ½ Prospect Street, Wisconsin Rapids.
