Mr. and Mrs. Otto Rannow, Colby celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary April 2 at an open house at the Colby city hall, followed by a dinner for relatives and close friends.

An anniversary cake, in the form of the number 50, was baked by Mrs. William Mueller, a sister of Mrs. Rannow.

Grand children of the couple presented Mrs. Rannow with a corsage of gold mums, and Mr. Rannow with a boutonniere of yellow carnations.  Miss Barbara Rannow, the oldest grand daughter, was in charge of the guest book.

Among those present were all the Rannow children; Mrs. Clifford (Leona) Rosinski of Hales Corners, and Arnold and Howard, both of Colby; 12 grand children, members of the Zion Lutheran congregation at Colby and many guests from Milwaukee, Hales Corners, Eau Claire, Ashland, Washburn, Medford, Abbotsford, Colby, Spencer, Unity, and Marshfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Rannow were married March 30, 1916, at Bell Lake, Minn.

Mr. Rannow was born and educated in Renville county, Minn. Mrs. Rannow, the former Clara Baumgarten, was born in Sibley county, Minn.

Following their marriage, the couple farmed in Minnesota until 1922 when they moved to Stetsonville, Wis., where Mr. Rannow had a harness and shoe shop.  They moved to Colby in 1928 and operated the Colby Café for five years.  They then returned to farming until 12 years ago, when Mr. Rannow began working for his sons at Rannow Cabinet and Supply in Colby.
