Funeral services for August Voelker, 86, Colby, were held Sunday afternoon at the First United Church of Christ. Mr. Voelker died March 10 at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield. The Rev. Kenneth Dix officiated and burial was in Colby memorial cemetery. Funeral arrangements were attended to by Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.
Pallbearers were Frank Goeltz, Oscar Habeck, Joe Steinwand, Gust Brehm, Carl Sabler and Edmund Thede.
August Voelker was born March 15, 1879, in Manitowoc county, and was married there in April, 1901, to Anna Kaeser, who preceded him in death in 1958. The couple made their home in Manitowoc county for seven years before moving to a farm west of Colby. They moved to the city of Colby in 1926.
Surviving are four sons, Elmer,
Minocqua, Marvin, Pittsville, Oscar and Roland, Colby; one daughter, Mrs.
Charles (Norma) Flick, Colby; a sister, Mrs. Helena Stolting, Kiel; 17 grand
children, 21 great grand children and four great great grand children.
