Nikolay, Frank V. Jr. (12 APR 1929 - 6 JUN 2014)

Frank V. Nikolay, Jr., 85, Marshfield, died on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Touch of Home Assisted Living in Marshfield.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, June 6, 2014 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Rozellville where the family will receive relatives and friends on Fri day from 8:30 am until service time.

Following the service, military rites will be conducted at St. Andrew's Church by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6352 of Stratford. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Frank was born on April 12, 1929 in Marshfield, to Frank and Helen (Wyman) Nikolay, Sr. He attended St. Andrew's Parochial School, Rozellville and Marshfield Schools. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean War.

He married JoAnne M. Beck on September 25, 1956 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield. Frank had farmed in the Town of Green Valley and also worked for Bob Nikolay Construction and at JC Penny's in Marshfield. He was a member and former commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6352 of Stratford. He thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Honor Flight in May 2013.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnne and their children, Christele (Delmar) Hall of Edgar, June (special friend - Bob Luther) Olson of Eau Claire, Jane (Bob) Wunrow of Auburndale, Geralyn (Dick) Wilson of Madison, and Paula (Russ) Anderson, and Susan (Brian) Christensen, all of Auburndale.

He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Nathan, Jill, Ryan and Kellan Knetter, Angel (John) Winkler, Matt and Chris Olson, and Blake and Brooke Anderson, and 2 great grandchildren, Nola and Grant Winkler. He is further survived by 3 brothers and 4 sisters, Jean Sazama of Marshfield, Pat (Patti) Nikolay of Auburndale, Kathleen Reigel of Marshfield, Jerry (Valerie) Nikolay of Stratford, Robert (Nancy) Nikolay, and Carol (Roger) Ress, all of Marshfield, and Betty (Ron) Worzella of Plymouth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law, Veronica Beck and brothers-in-law, Bob Reigel and James "Bud" Sazama. Memorials may be designated in his name to St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Rozellville. Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com.
