Preisinger, Delores J. (Sturm) (2 MAY 1936 - 20 MAY 2014)

Delores J. Preisinger, age 78, of Colby, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Delores was born on May 2, 1936, in Park Falls, the daughter of David and Lottie (Fry) Sturm.

She received her education in Park Falls. Delores was united in marriage to Rueben Preisinger, the love of her life, on August 1, 1953, in Butternut. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2010.

She worked at St. Croix Rod and Reel in Park Falls for over 30 years. Delores and Rueben moved to Colby in 1991 where she worked at Colby Elementary School for many years as “the lunch lady.” Delores was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church and volunteered at Bethesda Thrift Shop in Wausau and the Colonial Center in Colby.

Delores is survived by her children, Judy (Stephen) Bucheger of Granton and Mike (Marie) Preisinger of Colby. She was the proud grandma of seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Kathryn, Samantha, Stephanie, Albert, Ryan and Jena; and ten great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother, Robert (Jenny) Sturm of Oregon, two sisters-in-law, Carol Meye of Ogema and Lynda Preisinger of Menomonee Falls; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Rueben.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby. The Rev. Mark Neumann will preside. Family and friends are welcome from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, at Union Cemetery in Butternut. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Colby is entrusted with the arrangements.
