Porter Edward (26 Sept 1914 - 06 Sept 1968)

Edward J. Porter, 53, Waupun, died at 7:15 p.m., Friday, September 6, at a Waupun hospital of a heart attack.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Myre Funeral Home, Loyal. Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

The Rev. Conrad Mickelson, pastor of the Loyal United Methodist Church officiated.

Mr. Porter was born on September 28, 1914 in Grant County. April 9, 1955 he married Janet Larrman at Marinette. He received his education in Taylor County Schools. As a young man worked in the woods at Marinette and in Michigan. About four years ago came to this area and worked in the woods near Greenwood. Two years ago he moved to Waupun.

Pallbearers were Delmar Pieper, Gary Porter, Clifford Porter Michael Porter, Elroy Hoehne, and Stanley Voelker.

Mrs. Robert Prior, soloist sang "God Be With You Till We Meet Again" and "Onward Christian Soldiers." She was accompanied by Mrs. Byron Zepplin at the organ.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two step-daughters, Linda and Charlene; two sons, Virgil and Paul; and one daughter, Cindy, all at home; three brothers, Charles, Loyal; Glen, Wisconsin Rapids; Earl. Manistique, Michigan; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Jesse) Ramm, Medford; and Mrs. Fred (Leora) Sell, Loyal; and his mother, Mrs. Manly Porter, Riplinger.

He was preceded in death by his father on August 8,1968, one brother and one sister.
