Services were conducted at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford, Friday morning, at 10:30 for Emil F. Piehl, 90, who died Aug. 17 at the Leahy Nursing Home. The Rev. Richard Davis, Eau Claire, officiated and burial was made in Elmore cemetery in Fond du Lac county.
Mrs. Elmer Jensen, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Rueben Mantik, sang “What A Friend” and “Last Mile of the Way”.
Mr. Piehl was born Oct. 14, 1874, at Campbellsport and came to Medford in 1915. His marriage to Ada Harris took place March 8, 1916, at Medford. Mr. Piehl was self-employed as a salesman for Watkins products. He lived in the town of Medford until May when he was hospitalized and spent two months at the nursing home at Abbotsford.
include two daughters, Mrs. Stella Dean of Baltimore, Md., and Ruth, Mrs. David
Wedlund, of Eau Claire; three sons, Fred of Eau Claire, Edwin of Altoona, and
Martin of Ann Arbor, Mich.; 15 grand children and two great grand children, and
a half-sister, Marie Becker of Hartford. He was preceded in death by a daughter.
