Klemme, Malinda R. (2 FEB 1918 - 24 MAY 2014)

Malinda R. "Granny" Klemme, 96, Marshfield, died peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday morning, May 24, 2014, at the House of The Dove, Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, May 30, at Crossroad Church in Pittsville. Rev. David Krueger will officiate. Burial will be in Brooklawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in the town of Richfield, Wood County. Visitations will be held from 4-7 p.m., on Thursday, May 29, at the Rembs Funeral Home, and again on Friday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until time of services.

Malinda Anderegg was born on Feb. 2, 1918, in Marshfield, to Jacob and Lillian (nee Seidleman) Anderegg. She attended a rural school in the town of York, Clark County. She married John A. Sladek on Nov. 23, 1936, in the town of York, and he died on July 28, 1977. She then married Willis W. "Bill" Klemme on Sept. 24, 1983, in Pittsville, and sadly, he died on June 11, 1993. Malinda was employed at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory, retiring in the early 1970s, and also sold Fuller Brush Products. Her faith was very important to her as she was re-baptized on Aug. 21, 2005, and was the oldest member of Crossroads Church (formerly Evangelical Free Church). She enjoyed square dancing, gardening, baking, sewing, crocheting, bird watching, playing sheepshead, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Jerry Sladek, Kenosha, and JoAnn (Felix) DeGroot, Marshfield; six grandchildren, Debbie (Mark) Writz, Kathy (Darrell) Leibl, Ken (Cindy) Newmier, Larry (Kim) Sladek, Lori (Jimmy) Madison, and Lisa (fiancé David Dickinson) Sladek; 15 great-grandchildren, Rochelle (Allan) Neinast, Heather Johnson, Crystal (Glenn) Lee, Corie (fiancé Andrew Eldridge) Writz, Nichole (Joe) Kalinowski, Ben Writz, April (Danny) McHugh, Tonya Newmier, Cody Newmier, Chelsea Sladek, Kayla Sladek, Zack Sladek, Malinda Madison, Erik Puckett, and Noah Dickinson; eight great-great-grandchildren, Blaine and Kason Neinast, Bradley and Ethan Writz, Natalie and Ashley Kalinowski, Drake Johnson, and Zoey McHugh; and a sister, Viola (Delmar) Bartsch, La Crosse.

In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Norbert Newmier; a grandson, Johnny Newmier; three brothers, Edwin Anderegg, Ruben Anderegg and Ervin Anderegg; and four sisters, Meta Jacobi, Alma Zickert, Amanda Gross and Leona, who died in infancy.
