King, Mr. and Mrs. C. Arthur (Golden - 11 April 1972)

Mr. and Mrs. C. Arthur King of Neillsville observed their golden wedding anniversary on Tuesday, April 11. Mr. King and his bride, the former Eva Grace of Pipestone, Mn, began their life together at Worthington, Mn, where he worked with his father on the family farm and she taught in the local grade school. (A teacher by training, Mrs. King is a graduate of what is now Mankato State College.)

The couple soon moved to Sioux City, Ia, where Mr. King worked for a veterinary supply company from 1923 until 1932, when they moved to Mankato, Mn. There, Mr. King was employed as a salesman for a wholesale veterinary supply company and traveled throughout the states of Minnesota, South Dakota and Iowa for 10 years.

Subsequently left the firm to establish his own business, the King Veterinary Supply Company, which he operated until 1956 when the couple moved to Neillsville to be near their daughter, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Roberts, and her family. There are three grandchildren, Steve, David and Nancy Roberts. Since the time they moved to Neillsville and up until his retirement March 15, 1971, Mr. King was a salesman for the Osborn Laboratories, calling on veterinarians in Wisconsin and Illinois.

Mr. King is a past commander of the Mankato American Legion post and his wife is a past president of its auxiliary. In Neillsville, they are members of the United Church of Christ.
