Vanderwyst, Darlene Ann (Marriage - 25 March1972)

Miss Darlene Ann Vanderwyst, Marshfield, and Dale Wernberg, Rt. 5 Marshfield, were married Saturday afternoon, March 25, at Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Grant. The Rev. Richard Eggen was the officiating clergyman. Mr. and Mrs. LaVern Vanderwyst of Rt. 1 Granton are the bride’s parents. The groom is the son of Mrs. Jeannette Wernberg of Rt.5 Marshfield, and the late Mr. Wernberg.

For her marriage, the bride chose a full-length gown styled with long, full sleeves and an Empire waistline. A band of wide, green ribbon encircled the high waist. She wore a head piece of white satin leaves and yellow roses and carried a bouquet of yellow roses and white carnations as she was given in marriage by her father.

Miss Jeanne Schutz of Marshfield as maid of honor and Gary Baird of Rt. 5 Marshfield, as bestman were the couple’s only attendants. Miss Schutz wore a floor-length gown of green velvet and carried a bouquet of gold and yellow roses and carnations. Roses and green leaves were entwined in her hair.

The ushers were Douglas Baird and Norman Vanderwyst. Soloist Susan Dudei was accompanied on the organ by Margie Schlinsog.

The American Legion Hall in Pittsville was the scene later of a reception and supper.

The bride is a 1968 graduate of Granton High School. Her husband is a 1965 Marshfield Senior High School graduate. Both are employed in Marshfield. The newlyweds will make their home on Rt. 5 Marshfield.
