Crosby, Fredric (? - 26 February 1972)

Funeral services for Fredric Crosby, age 65, La Crosse attorney who died February 26 at his home, were held Tuesday, February 29, at 2 p.m. from Christ Episcopal Church in La Crosse. Burial was made in the Oak Grove Cemetery there. The Sletten-McKee-Hanson Funeral Home, La Crosse, was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Crosby was born in Abbotsford to Judge and Mrs. Emery Crosby. The elder Mr. Crosby was an attorney and judge of the 17th judicial circuit for many years.

Mr. Crosby attended Neillsville Public School and graduated from St. John’s military academy at Delafield. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1928 and a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1930 from the University of Wisconsin. He practiced law in Oconto and Green Bay for about a year before opening an office in La Crosse. Mr. Crosby served as district attorney for La Crosse County from 1940 to 1947.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Mary, include three daughters, Mrs. George (Mary) Lunt of Deerfield, Mass., Mrs. Thomas (Anne) Kleist of Evansville, Ind., and Miss Jane Crosby of Munster, Ind.
