Killion Alice (29 DEC 1942)

Mrs. Alice Killion announces the marriage of her daughter Irene to P.F.C. Kenneth Rodgers at Camp Shelby, Miss.  The ceremony took place at 8 o’clock on the evening of December 29, 1942.  It was performed by Judge J.D. Caperley at his home on 711 Hardy Street in Hattiesburg.  The marriage vows were exchanged before the fireplace banked with Christmas greens.

The bride wore a street length dress of gold crepe and brown accessories.  The bride is a graduate of Greenwood High School with the class of 1931.  The groom received his education in the schools of Des Moines, Iowa.  He entered the Armed Services in May 1942 and has since been stationed with the Quartermaster Corps at Camp Shelby.

The Gleaner joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for many years of happy married life.
