Dill, Julia L. (16 SEP 1943)

A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the parsonage of the Lutheran Church at Globe on Thursday, September 16, 1943 at 1:00 p.m. when Miss Julia L. Dill, daughter of Mrs. Lydia Dill of Greenwood became the bride of Harold H. Mitte, of Globe, son of Mrs. Bertha Mitte of Milwaukee, Rev. Sheuman officiated.

The bride was attired in a white satin crepe, with a fitted waist, which had a sweetheart neckline and three quarter length sleeves with a full skirt.  She wore a tulle veil with a pearl cornet.  A locket, the gift of the groom was her only ornament.  She carried a bouquet of white roses.

Miss Bertha Mitte of Milwaukee, sister of the groom as maid of honor, wore an aqua brocaded taffeta dress with a corsage of mixed flowers.

Miss Victoria Schoenherr of Globe, as bridesmaid, wore a pink marquisate and a corsage of mixed flowers.

The groom was attended by Milton Boe of Greenwood and Gilbert Dill of Hollandale, Minn.

A wedding supper was served at the home of the bride’s mother to 85 relatives and intimate friends.  The home was decorated in pink, blue and white streamers and a large white wedding bell.  A beautiful wedding cake formed the centerpiece on the bride’s table.  The cake was baked by Mrs. Alfred Schwarze.  The Misses Alvera Reineking and Violet Kuester were the waitresses.

The bride chose as her wedding day the anniversary of her mother’s 32nd wedding day.  In the evening a reception was held at the Weston Hall to which over 100 guests enjoyed dancing.  On Saturday evening a shower and dance was held at the Weston Hall.  The young couple received many lovely gifts.

The bride is a graduate of the Greenwood High School with the class of 1942.
