Steve Brice officiated. Burial followed in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Steve Schreiner, Jason Piltz, Brandon Schreiner, Aaron Decker, Phil Bauer and Scott Curtis.

Elmer Anton Schreiner was born on Oct. 28, 1930, in Rib Lake, the son of George and Frances (nee Haider) Schreiner. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in the Rib Lake area, graduating from Rib Lake High School in 1948. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed in Quantico, Va. He met Helen L. Babish, who was working for the FBI in Washington, D.C. at the time. They were married on April 16, 1955, at St. John's Catholic Church in Portage, Pa. They moved to Chicago, Ill., where Elmer worked in a tape factory. In 1959, they moved to Wisconsin and purchased a farm southeast of Loyal. While farming, Elmer also worked at Modern of Marshfield for a few years, where they made furniture. After retiring from farming, he helped some of the area farmers with field work, until he physically couldn't anymore.
