Sgt. John
Gardner arrived here from Fort Polk, La., to spend a 30-day leave with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gardner, before leaving for overseas duty.
Mr. and Mrs. James Turnquist and children, Lisa and Arthur, and her mother, Mrs.
Glen Drew, left Wednesday for Sumter, N.C., to spend the holidays with the
latter’s son-in-law and daughter, Maj. and Mrs. Carl Ackermann, and sons,
Richard and James. Mrs. Drew will remain for an extended visit.
Mr. and
Mrs. Ernest Elmer and grandchildren, Barbara and Bruce Elmer, left for
Albuquerque, New Mexico, to spend the holidays with their son and
daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Elmer.
The 92nd birthday of Mrs.
Antonia Yaniga was celebrated Tuesday at the Clark County Home for the Aged,
where she resides.
Members of the Intersee Club were entertained at the
home of Mrs. Carl Stabnow Wednesday at 8 p.m.
Christmas Day guests at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Carteron were their children, Mr. and Mrs. Richard
Ermilio of River Grove, Il, and Sgt. Ronald Carteron; also Mr. and Mrs. Harlan
Brux and family and Mr. and Mrs. John Horton and daughter, Shannon, of Madison.
Guests Sunday at the Godfrey Dyre home were Mr. and Mrs. Otto Voie, Mr.
and Mrs. Harold Dunn of Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Steuber and daughters,
Janet and Diane, of Mondovi and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Olson and son, Travis of
Glenwood City. Other weekend guests were their children, Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Lamonica and sons, Joseph and Mark of Rolling Meadows, Il, and Mr. and Mrs.
Donald Szpanski of Glenwood City.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Fitzl and family
are spending a week with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Noah and John Fitzl,
and other relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Warner and Lawrence Jackson were
guests Sunday at the Harold (Dick) Warner home in Chetek.
Mr. and Mrs.
John Horton and daughter, Shannon, of Madison left Sunday to visit relatives in
La Crosse after spending since Thursday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harlan
Brux.
Installation of officers of the Adult fellowship, Women’s Guild and
Youth Fellowship organizations will be held Sunday, January 2, at Immanuel
United Church of Christ, during the morning worship service at 10:45 a.m.
The Good Evening club was to meet Wednesday evening for a Christmas Party at
the home of Mrs. Eugene Carteron. Members were to bring white elephant gifts and
a prize for games.
Due to inclement weather, the toboggan party has been
postponed to a date to be announced later.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Telford and
daughters of Eau Claire visited Friday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Don Warner.
Christmas weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Green
Bay.
The Adult Fellowship will meet in Immanuel United Church Sunday at 8
p.m. Hosts will be Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Albert, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Braun and Mr.
and Mrs. Vern Henaman.
The Forest Queen Royal Neighbors will meet at the
home of Mrs. Robert Clintsman Monday at 8 p.m.
The Women’s Guild will
meet Wednesday afternoon, January 5, in Immanuel United Church. Hostesses will
be Mrs. George Kuester and Mrs. Herbert Horn.
Miss Janet Brux and
Garfield Bienfang came Monday from Milwaukee to spend a week at the home of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Brux.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Braun and Mr. and
Mrs. Duane Olson entertained their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Olsen, Saturday
evening at the Bali Hai supper club in honor of the 30th wedding anniversary.
Holiday guests at the Howard Olsen home were Mr. and Mrs. Chris Olsen and
Mrs. Blanche Schmidt of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Braun, Todd, Tammy and
Daniel, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Olson, Jeff and Jodi and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Olson,
Mr. and Mrs. Otto Voie and Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Dyre and Jane.
