Roeber, Matt (14 FEB 1867 - 21 DEC 1953)

Matt Roeber was born Feb. 14, 1867 in Germantown, Washington Co., Wis. On Feb. 24, 1904 he was united in marriage with Louise (Soefker) Thielen. They came to Clark County in 1913 and farmed around Greenwood for many years. Mrs. Roeber passed away on Dec. 9, 1940.

Mr. Roeber, who has been ill sor some time, passed away at the Marden Home on Monday, Dec. 21, 1953, having reached the age of 86 years, 10 months and 7 days.

Funeral services were held from the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church on Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Charles Koch officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery. The body was at the Schiller Funeral Parlors until time of the service.

Mr. Roebert is survived by a brother, Henry Roeber, Milwaukee; three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Abilings, Milwaukee, Misses Lily May and Milly Roeber of San Francisco, Calif.; and a stepson, George Thielen, Davidson, Mich.
