Acker, Robert W. (1889? - 3 OCT 1953)
Robert William Acker, 64, of
Grayslake, Ill., where he lived for the last 11 years, died Oct. 3rd, 1953 in
his home, after an illness of two years.
Mr. Acker, the son of August and
Minnie Acker, was born in Milwaukee, Wis. From there he moved to Greenwood
(Clark Co., Wis.), where he lived for many years, being married and raising his
family in this vicinity.
He was an employee for the Pacific Steel Co. of
Waukegan, Ill., and was a boiler maker for this company. He was a member of the
A.F.L. Boilermakers, Local No. 1.
He is survived by his widow, Augusta,
two sons, George and Norman of Graslake, and one daughter, Mrs. Ray (Gertrude)
Greiner of Round Lake, Ill.; also five grandchildren, four brothers and one
sister.
Funeral services were held Oct. 7, 1953 at 2:00 p.m. in the
Strang Chapel, Grayslake, the Rev. Stephen Liddleast officiated. Burial was in
Ana Cemetery at Grayslake, Ill.
