Dillenbeck, Martha (6 JUL 1866 - 20 SEP 1953)

Martha Gibson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Gibson, was born at Janesville on July 6, 1866. Here she grew to womanhood and received her education.

On May 29, 1890 she was united in marriage to Albert Dillenbeck at Janesville. In 1902 they came to Clark County (Wis.) and settled on a farm in the Town of Eaton. Here they worked the wild land into one of the nicest farms of this section. To this union were born two sons, Roger Dillenbeck of Marshfield and Merryl Dillenbeck, who passed away on Dec. 30, 1916

Mr. Dillenbeck passed away on Jan. 24, 1915..

In 1920 she and her son Roger went to Janesville to live. Roger returned after a few years and Mrs. Dillenbeck came back to Greenwood in 1934 and has made her home at the Einfeldt residence since that time.

On Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1953 she was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, following a heart attack. Several years ago she fell and broke her hip, which made it hard for her to get around. She passed away at the hospital on Sunday morning, Sept. 20, 1953.

Funeral services were held at Grace Methodist Church, Greenwood at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22nd. The Rev. Arthur Riley, pastor, officiated. She was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.

The pallbearers were five nephews, Ross Lowery, Kenneth Lowery, Frank Popple, Clark Hatton, Evan Hatton, and a friend, Harry Stafford.

Those in charge of the flowers were two great nieces, Mrs. Craig Asplin and Mrs. William Lenz.

Mrs. Dillenbeck is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, one grandchild and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Dillenbeck was the last of eight children.
