Stone, Matthew Ray (13 July 1959 - 9 January 2014) With Flag

Matthew Ray Stone, 54, of Neillsville died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at his home in Neillsville.

Matthew was born July 13, 1959, in San Jose, CA, the son of Orville and Susan (Dober) Stone. After completing his education, he enlisted in the United States Army and served for eight years. He was stationed in Germany and worked as a mechanic on tanks. After an honorable discharge, he went back to California and worked as a tow truck driver and milk hauler. Matthew moved to Neillsville where he worked for Weinbrenner Shoe Factory in Marshfield, and then, at Lynn Dairy hauling milk. Matthew love to build things, draw and doodle. He collected dragons and loved listening to heavy metal music, but his main interest was his family.

Matthew is survived by his mother, Susan Stone; grandfather, Norman Dober; and his family, Cheri Ludwig, Kathleen Stone, Elisabeth Leitzen, Kristen Stone, Daniel Stone, Valerie Stone, Lana Stone, Jada Stone, Alyssa Kleifgen, Dylon Ludwig, Tyler Ludwig, Leah Ludwig and Matthew Ludwig; 10 grandchildren; and a brother, Christopher Stone.

He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Mark Stone.
