Filitz, Anne (1935? - 10 January 2014)

Anne Filitz, 78, peacefully went home Jan. 10, 2014.

Anne was the loving wife of Jim Filitz; they were joined in marriage Oct. 12, 1963. Their mutual love of hunting, fishing, and family was the foundation of their lives together. Anne had a successful career as a registered nurse, working as a public health nurse for Clark County for 27 years and was a head staff nurse for Sunburst Youth Homes for seven years.

She devoted her life to partnership with her husband, together serving as volunteers throughout the community. Anne was a devoted member of the United Church of Christ in Neillsville, serving as a Sunday school teacher and assisting in her church community. She was one of the first women to serve on the church’s board of deacons. Anne enjoyed being a lead hunter education instructor, volunteering for the Wisconsin DNR for over 33 years. Anne was a 4-H club youth leader for the Pine Toppers 4-H Club. Touching the lives of countless children and adults, she will be greatly missed by the community she served and loved.

Anne is remembered and loved by her husband, Jim; their son, Jim Filitz; daughters, Cinda Filitz and Laurel (John) Czajka; grandchildren, Matt (Lynn) Czajka, Tim Czajka, Andy Czajka and Jenny Czajka; and great-granddaughter, Cadence Czajka. Anne was loved by the family of Todd and Barb Steward with sons, Sean and Todd Jr. (TJ). She is fondly remembered by her brother, Lawrence (Dixie) Dehart; sister, Carol (John) Bredlau; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Vera and Sanford Dehart, and her sister, Sharon Fash.

Funeral services for Anne were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at the United Church of Christ in Neillsville, with visitation from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Pastor Jacoba Koppert officiated. Music was provided by Karen Mohr, organist. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Casketbearers were Dick Chose, Dallas Neville, Roger Roehl, Jim Mills, Pat Wolf and Butch Carl. Honorary casketbearers were Todd Steward, Todd Steward, Jr. and Sean Steward.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Clark County Humane Society, Neillsville Public Library and the United Church of Christ.

Online condolences may be made at: www.geschefh.com.  The Gesche Funeral Home assisted Anne’s family with funeral arrangements.
