Isabelle J. Ruplinger, 85, Marathon, died Saturday, January 11, 2014 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Mount View Care Center, Wausau.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014, at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Marathon. Rev. Jon W. Hadler will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Marathon. Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon, and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

Isabelle J. Ruplinger, age 85, Marathon, died Saturday, January 11, 2014 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Mount View Care Center, Wausau.

She was born June 12, 1928 in the town of Hamburg, daughter of the late Ervin Sr. and Norma (Voigt) Ziegel. On September 3, 1949 she married Wyman "Rookie" Ruplinger at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. He preceded her in death on December 9, 2012.

Isabelle worked in food service for the Marathon school district for many years. In 2010 she retired from Rib River Ballroom where she worked as a cook and waitress for 65 years. She was active in her church as a member of the Ladies Aid, Mission Circle and 36 year member of the altar guild. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Alois Dreikosen Post No. 469, Marathon.

Survivors include her four children, Gary (Connie) Ruplinger, Marathon, Guy (Susan) Ruplinger, Wausau, Dean (Jini) Ruplinger, Wausau and Edee (Timothy) Zuleger, Marathon; seven grandchildren, Jenese (Brian) Karlen, Justin (Jenny) Ruplinger, Jessica Ruplinger, Daniel Ruplinger, Bennett Ruplinger, Jordan Ruplinger and Leah Zuleger; four great-grandchildren, Bailey, Breanne, Dax and Laken; three brothers, Ervin Jr. (Ruth) Ziegel, Gerald (Florence) Ziegel, and Kenneth (Beverly) Ziegel, all of Wausau; three sisters, Imogene Niewolny, Wausau, Janice (Ivan) Ruplinger, Marathon, and Rosemary (David) Groth, Wausau.

Besides her parents and husband, Wyman, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Elton and Carol Ziegel and a brother-in-law, Walter Niewolny.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014 at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Marathon. Rev. Jon W. Hadler will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Marathon. Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon, and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
