Youmans, G.C. (Elected Alderman – 24 Jul 1916)
Monday evening a special meeting of the city council was held and G.C. Youmans
was elected alderman from the 3rd Ward to fill the unexpired term of E.H.
Schoengarth, deceased. Guy has served on the council from the 2nd Ward and with
his previous experience should prove a valuable member of the body. City Clerk
Fred Whitcomb tendered his resignation as city clerk at the special meeting and
it will take effect Aug. 1st. Mr. Whitcomb expects to leave in a few days for
Lincoln, Neb., where he may decide to reside permanently, as his daughter, Ruth,
lives there. Gus Ayers was also granted a saloon license for the Hamilton Hotel.
